Man Politely Robs Wash. Store

February 20, 2011

I really ‘like’ this video, but not in amusing way. From the description:

Authorities have made an arrest in a weekend convenience store robbery that a Seattle store owner found remarkable for the robber’s politeness. Officers quickly identified a suspect from tips received after this surveillance video “went viral”. (Feb. 7)

I don’t want to comment on that old robber. Many of us will have different point of views. Here is one interesting comment from a viewer:

yea and the federal government has robbed this man at gunpoint for tens of thousands thoughout his life .ss medicaid medicare fica unconstitutional income . tax. the state robs him to register his vehicle, state income tax property tax school tax gasoline tax, tax on taxes. the federal reserve devalues the dollar ruins the economy. goldman sacs and j p morgan steal bailout tax dollars to pay for their yachts. we gave 90 billion to mubarak in egypt. and u people call him a thief i dont think so..

In my mind, the shop owner is really a wise man, who understand the robber situation, even that robber did a bad thing, which will end up himself and his family in worse condition. Nobody knows, how it is feel like in that robber ‘shoes’.

This is an Internet – From Top Gear

February 20, 2011

Yeah. This is internet. Where people leaning forward, instead of backward. Maybe to reach the keyboard and to read something while watching the video. When you watching television, you just leaning back, doing nothing, changing channel, waiting for the commercial to finish and nothing else.

The Man with a 30 Second Memory

January 7, 2011

The Man with a 30 Second Memory

How it is feel, living with no memories? I think, it feels nothing. That man, don’t even know the taste of food, of anything. No memories, no past, no expectation for future, no fears, no hope, no nothing. How did he live? How did he go to the toilet? Brushing teeth takes more than 30 seconds. It looks tiring for his wife, split for a half minutes, likes for a year. But, she looks very patience with him. And he remember no one, even his children, except his wife. Watch Youtube Video.

[Video] Yundi Li in Nike Commercial

December 27, 2010

Looks like Yundi Li can act too. How the story goes can be read from that video description, but the story line is easy to understand. At the end of this commercial, the slogan says You are faster than you.

[Video] Most Brutal and Violence Video Game

December 27, 2010

Manhunt

Absolutely nonsense kind of game. Totally violences, benefit nothing, not even for fun. Manhunt rejected for its “unrelenting focus on stalking and brutal slaying”, the British Board of Film Classification. The original Manhunt game caused huge controversy and was blamed for the murder of Stefan Pakeerah. More news in BBC News.

[Video Tech] How Fast is Google Chrome?

December 24, 2010

Great effort from Google to show how fast is the Google Chome works. And all the other stuff and questions you can read it in the description, for example:

“Why does allrecipes.com in the potato gun sequence appear at once, and not the text first and images second? And why does it appear to render from bottom of the screen to the top?”
“Why does the top one third of the page appear first on the weather.com page load?” and other questions..

But, why some peoples (more than 3 millions) just watch that video? Why that 3 mil peoples didn’t watch the making of the video? Heres the link: The Making. From the making video, you will see how much effort they put to make that 2.10 minutes video. How many takes, to make sure the pages came out with the potatoes, to make sure they capture the every moments. So, watch the making.

[Video+Tech] Amazing Word Lens Dictionary

December 19, 2010

I still can’t figured it out how the scan electronic dictionary works. How can the dictionary detect the words and then translate it. And now new thing coming. The WordLens, new apps for iPhone which currently offers only English to Spanish and Spanish to English translation. It is a paid app and it cost $4.99. It is very useful especially when travelling, to read the road sign, restaurant’s name, brochures–etc.

This is really a worth buy app. Moreover the translations is live, no need to buffer or anything else. Simply to understand, it works likes, the optical recognize the picture, detect the word, find the translation in dictionary, and then translate it.

But, how can the optic lenses distinguish between the words and the other pictures. And what if the word is written in words, and pictures forms, can the lenses detect it? For example when you write a word ‘apple’ with the lines of the words is the combination of picture of apples, or other pictures.
It really an amazing futuristics app.
